WORK ON NOTHERN BREAKWATER HEAD IS STARTED

01/06/2016

On June 2, 2016 the construction of northern breakwater head is started.

The first step in the construction of the northern breakwater head is started by placing large pipes deeply into the sea bed. The submersion of the pipes is carried out by means of vibration – a method, which does not cause any noise in the same way as ramming, where the sheet piling is hammered into place.

We therefore do not expect any noise nuisance of significance.

The submersion of the pipes is expected to take approximately one month, depending on the weather.

Southern breakwater head
Work is carried out concurrently with the anchoring of the southern breakwater head, where the pipes are anchored with large bolts, which are placed crosswise between the pipes.
