Frederikshavn is the natural choice for NorSea

For several years, we at NorSea have had our eyes on the development in Frederikshavn, where increasing activities and exciting projects have attracted deserved attention. In March 2020, we seized the opportunity and established a NorSea department in the Kattegat Silo, and we have received a very warm welcome.

Jesper Hangstrup Lambertsen, our representative at the Frederikshavn office, has been met with interest and has been very busy establishing cooperation agreements with local companies. We are looking forward to being a part of the collaborative culture, Frederikshavn is famous for.

The interaction and cooperative mindset in Frederikshavn in combination with the activities at the harbour makes Frederikshavn the natural and logical choice for us. The culture and activities fit perfectly with a one-stop service provider like NorSea. We are engaged in both the maritime industry and the energy industry, and we have competences across the entire value chain, from the very first to the last link. We can help with everything within stevedoring, local and international transport and logistics for customs declaration, cargo handling and supply to forging workshop, warehousing facilities and digital solutions.

New agency to the city
So far, we have been busy with tasks in servicing several of the rigs that have arrived. We have also been given the first tasks within the shipping agency, and we expect significant growth in this area.

To meet this demand, we have entered into an agreement to be our parent company Wilhelmsen Ship Services' local agent for the whole of Denmark. Starting October 1st, this is an activity that will primarily be operated from the office in Frederikshavn with support from our Esbjerg office.

We are confident that we can further expand our collaboration with Wilhelmsen, and that both we and other companies in Frederikshavn can benefit from closer access to their global network. The presence in Frederikshavn is perfect to give us even better coverage of the activities in the North Sea.

Who are we?
Here on the blog we can share knowledge, passion, and attitude and in conclusion I want to put a few words on why we go to work every day.

At NorSea, we are dedicated to running a responsible and sustainable business and wholeheartedly support the UN's global goals. We see responsibility and sustainability as a competitive advantage, and we have just launched an ambition to create the world's first zero emission base port.

We have operated a base port in the energy industry since 1974. We build on a strong safety culture through many years of commitment to the energy industry and the maritime sector, and we are a passionate advocate of LEAN: There is no waste of resources, emissions or safety risks in a work task removed.

NorSea Denmark engages approximately 250 employees in Denmark and the United Kingdom, and is part of the NorSea Group with a total of 1,200 employees spread over 19 bases globally. The main shareholder in NorSea Group is the Norwegian Wilhelmsen Group with 21,000 employees in 74 countries.

This post is part of Port of Frederikshavn’s blog universe, which we have called THE PORT VOICE. The blog has been put into the world to give the word to businesses and business partners of the port. The purpose is to create a channel, where we can share knowledge, passion and demeanour in an inclusive, engaging and non-profit way. The goal is to have as many businesses, organisations and partners of the port as possible to contribute in order to obtain a platform, where we can learn more about each other, pass on learning, wisdom or demeanour and invite one another into the world, each one of us find ourselves in.
