TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGEST

We in Hytek were one of the first companies to move into the Port of Frederikshavn area, when the port expansion became a reality. We did so because we could see the great potential there is in developing and exploiting the good cooperation that exists between the companies at the port.

Port of Frederikshavn serves as a kind of pit stop for many of the ships calling the port. In this comparison, we are in Hytek part of the pit crew, because as in the pit stop, the port also typically has to do more than one thing. Where a Formula 1 car needs the tyres changed, filled the tank and perhaps also changed a wing, many of the ships must also be checked carefully; a crane must be fixed, the lifeboats must have a service inspection and the hydraulic components need to be repaired.

At Port of Frederikshavn we can fix most of it. We can do so because the cooperation between the various companies at the port is as good, as it is. We each have some competences that are important for the different types of ships- which is why cooperation is so important for all of us at the port.

A strong group
Hytek moved into Port of Frederikshavn in 2012 to be close to the service we already offered at the port. Since then we have expanded our service workshop and today there is an average of 20 men from Hytek at the port every day.

So, we moved in during the early start of the expansion of Port of Frederikshavn, and we have not regretted it. As the port has grown, we too have grown. We wanted, and still want to continue to grow together with the port, so that we can, in cooperation with the other companies on the port, move Port of Frederikshavn as a whole, into the absolute port top league. Hytek is an important part of the team of companies, which together provide top-class service when a ship comes to Frederikshavn.

And we are a team! A team that works together. We show this, among other things, when we stand as a group at some of the world's largest fairs in the form of, for example, SMM in Hamburg, ONS in Stavanger and Nor-Shipping in Oslo. Together, we represent the one stop service at Port of Frederikshavn, which is a wide range of the service tasks that can be performed when a ship is in Frederikshavn.

Completely right
The new facilities at the port have helped increase the level of cooperation on the service, especially since the new water depth means that more vessels can call Frederikshavn. It was and still is our clear expectation that a larger port, will give more work to us in Hytek, and we are beginning to see this, now that the port expansions are beginning to pay off.

The larger water depth and the many innovative solutions, which the port companies can offer, means that we in Frederikshavn can deliver a top-notch package solution. We in Hytek are pleased to have been a part of this development from the start.

The port was right when it began its expansion, and although the people of northern Jutland rarely praise ourselves, we are not sorry to admit that it was also the right time for us to move into the port when expansion went from idea to action. We will grow together with the port and we will support the port companies – our partners – in growing with us. Because together we are strongest.

This post is part of Port of Frederikshavn’s blog universe, which we have called THE PORT VOICE. The blog has been put into the world to give the word to businesses and business partners of the port. The purpose is to create a channel, where we can share knowledge, passion and demeanour in an inclusive, engaging and non-profit way. The goal is to have as many businesses, organisations and partners of the port as possible to contribute in order to obtain a platform, where we can learn more about each other, pass on learning, wisdom or demeanour and invite one another into the world, each one of us find ourselves in.
